The Supernaturalist

by Eoin Colfer

This is a well written book by Eoin Colfer. It is the first book I have read by him and I will be reading his others. He is a great writer.

This book follows a group of teens and young adults as they fight supernatural parasitic creatures. Cosmo, an orphan who has no status in society and likely no future at all, joins them after a near death experience involving his escape from the tortuous orphanage where he lived. After his near death experience he can see the supernatural ethereal parasites that feed of each persons life energy.

Their adventures are hair raising and fantastic as they sort out the growing problem of parasites, which only a few can see, feeding on peoples life forces in their futuristic satellite city.

This book is a great read and I would recommend it for all interested in Young Adult literature and for kids ready for a more complicated and interesting novel.

Overall it is a 4 out 5.

If you buy it, use this link to support this site, I appreciate it.
